Chenin Blanc from vines around forty years old, pressed straight to old barrels for fifteen months of élevage. From a cooler year, its pristine stone fruits are seasoned with smoke and minerals. Displaying the kind of tightrope balance we find in the very best examples of the grape, it no doubt has a long life ahead.

Pinot Noir from a friend’s vineyards in Arbois. The grapes were harvested by Alice and fermented on the skins as a mix of whole bunches and destemmed grapes for a fortnight before being pressed to cuve until the following spring. Offering a trio of red berries, earth and funk, this is as lively a take on the grape as you will find

Gamay from two tiny parcels of vines between seventy and ninety years old, planted over deep gravel and sand near Thierry’s childhood home in the Touraine. The grapes spent two months macerating as whole bunches, before being pressed to old barrels for fifteen months of élevage. This is perhaps the finest Gamay we have tasted from the Loire, offering an abundance of fruit, silky texture and a long, lingering lick of acid. Delicious now, it will age beautifully over the coming years.
