IL TERRAZZO features wines that encapsulate everything we love about summer drinking. Delicate and perfumed, they offer plenty of complexity and finesse and are perfect alongside the beautiful ingredients that fill the markets at this time of year.

LA GRAPPERIE
Premières Tries 2023
Loire, France
This new cuvée comes from the first pick of each of Renaud’s parcels of Chenin Blanc and therefore includes vines both young and old. The grapes were pressed directly and moved to old barrels for fifteen months of élevage and here a cooler vintage has rendered a pale, delicate and nuanced expression of the grape that is incredibly compelling in its youth.

MONTEFORCHE
Cassiara 2023
Veneto, Italy
Moscato Bianco and Garganega from two parcels of vines of around forty years of age. The fruit was destemmed and macerated for a day before being pressed to concrete vats until the following spring. This is fresh and floral, open and inviting. An easygoing, delicious wine, which works beautifully as an aperitivo.

CANTINA GIARDINO
NA 2023
Campania, Italy
This excellent amber wine is a blend dominated by Falanghina from Benevento and Coda di Volpe from their vineyards in Montemarano, with a touch of Fiano and Greco in the mix. Each spent four days on skins before being pressed off and blended for eight months of rest in concrete. This really impresses with gentle mineral notes and stone fruits framed by just the right amount of tannin and a clean, salty finish. A great introduction to the house style.

GRÉGORY GUILLAUME
L’Épicurien 2023
Ardèche, France
The grapes here come from a beautiful, remote plot of forty year old Grenache Noir. This saw a week of carbonic maceration before being pressed off to rest in cuve for just under a year. Luminous in the glass, this charming expression of the grape displays a wonderful purity of fruit, whilst a pleasant herbaceous note adds a lift and intrigue.

LA PETITE SOEUR
Globule Rouge 2023
Loire, France
Cabernet Franc from fifty five year old vines planted over schist. The grapes were fermented as whole bunches for eleven days, before being pressed to cuve until the following spring. A cooler vintage has produced a lighter, brighter wine that pairs vibrant, brambly fruit with a touch of earth and spice.

DOMAINE DE KALATHAS
Un Été Grec 2021
Cyclades, Greece
Made entirely from old vines of the local variety Koumariano, this invigorating rosé wine was fermented as whole bunches for three weeks, before being foot trodden and pressed off for a year of rest in vat. Lifted and perfumed with sunkissed berries and wild herbs, this is incredibly light on its feet, with the kind of bittersweet flavours that scream apéritif. As the name suggests, a wine that captures all the joy and charm of a summer spent in the Greek sunshine.
