A blend of four tiny parcels of old vines of Cabernet Franc, which total less than a hectare and are planted over a combination of sand and limestone. The grapes infused as whole bunches for a fortnight before being pressed to old demi-muids and amphorae for a year of rest. Reflecting the vintage, there is a luminous character to the fruit, which is awash with the kind of cleansing acidity that keeps us coming back for more.

Barbera from sandy soils in Costigliole d’Asti. The grapes were destemmed and the wine macerated on the skins for a fortnight, before being pressed to vats until the following spring. The result is an old-fashioned, delicious table wine that offers lashings of brambly fruit and plenty of the grape’s cleansing acidity. Perhaps the ultimate trattoria wine and the perfect foil to the region’s rich and noble cuisine.

Grenache and a touch of Carignan from a friend’s vineyards planted over clay and limestone in Calce. Two thirds of the grapes were destemmed, whilst the remainder were kept at whole bunches, and after a week of maceration, the grapes were pressed off to vats until spring. Light, bright and crunchy, the red fruits are seasoned gently with woody herbs and warming spice, making for an easygoing wine full of southern charm.
